Meet the Directors

Jan and Lon Tuin Co-Direct Tamar’s Voice.  They have served in this capacity since 1997.  They have been married for 47 years.  They have three grown children, one son and two daughters, who are married and have eight grandchildren.  Their grandchildren range from two years to twenty years.

They met at Pasadena College—now Point Loma Nazarene College in the San Diego. California area.  They spent most of their married life in Orange County, California.

Jan is a retired elementary school teacher.  She substitute taught while their children grew up and then taught full time in public school for 18 years.  Her favorite grade levels were 5th and kindergarten.

Her book, What About Her?, was published in 1997, just two months before she was asked to assume leadership of Tamar’s Voice.  When she wrote the book, she told God she wanted to remain anonymous, thus she used her penname.  However, God had other plans.  He wanted her to lead a public ministry.  She smiles when she considers how God asks us to do things we think we could never do.  It is in our weakness, that His strength helps us to overcome.

She is currently in the process of writing another book, Megan Lynn, Special Delivery, another true story of how God was faithful to turn something evil into something good.

Lon is also retired from public education.  In his early years, he taught in high school; the last 25 years of his career, he worked as a guidance counselor.  Those years as counselor helped him understand the responsibility of maintaining integrity while working with those who were vulnerable.

In his spare time during the past few years, he has filled volumes of books of genealogy data and stories.   For the past two years he has served as head wrestling coach at Marion High School in Indiana.

Jan and Lon moved to Marion, Indiana from Southern California in 2001 to be close to their children and grandchildren.  They enjoy the smaller town environment where they find themselves quite involved in their community.

They are thankful they are able to be available to scores of hurting women, and spouses, who have been victimized by spiritual leaders who should have been there to protect rather than abuse.
