Jan Tuin
Jan has been the director of Tamar's Voice since 1997. She is a retired school teacher who dedicates much of her time to listening to and talking with victims and survivors to show them they are not alone and there are others who understand and will listen.
Jan is married to Lon Tuin who serves on the Board of Directors for Tamar's Voice. They have been married for 49 years. They have three grown children, one son and two daughters, who are married and have eight grandchildren. Their grandchildren range from six years to twenty-four years.
They spent most of their married life in Orange County, California and moved to Indiana to be with their children and grandchildren in 2001 when Jan retired from a teaching career.
Her book, What About Her?, was published in 1997, just two months before she was asked to assume leadership of Tamar’s Voice. When she wrote the book, she told God she wanted to remain anonymous, thus she used her penname. However, God had other plans. He wanted her to lead a public ministry. She smiles when she considers how God asks us to do things we think we could never do. It is in our weakness, that His strength helps us to overcome.
She is currently in the process of writing two books, She Came Like the Wind and….co-authoring with her husband, Lon, The Decathlete.
